It starts as a trickling stream
flooding into a swampy mire
hatred thick with lava fire
growing turmoil in the unseen

It starts a whisper of song
a hopeful, budding melody
love's verses growing free
at the chorus, we join along

I wrote this poem for the Wea’ve Written Weekly prompt. This week’s prompt was provided by Sadje:

  • Theme: Love/Hate

Biolet?

The Biolet is a six line poem; the first two lines are repeated as the last two lines, however in reverse.

The rhyme scheme can be expressed as ABbaBA (with the capital letters representing the repeated lines).

The length of the lines can be in iambic tetrameter (8 syllables), iambic pentameter (10 syllables), iambic hexameter (12 syllables), or in unmetered lines of random lengths.
