smear the world in lilac haze as sunlight dips downward tugging nature's weary daze beckoning children homeward
One thing about life in the countryside that I will never tire of is the view of the sky. We can see so much of the sky from where our home is situated, which means luminous stars painted across the night sky; vibrant, ever-changing sunsets and sunrises; and access to rolling storm clouds from miles away.
This past weekend, I went to visit my sister who lives in Milwaukee. It’s about a five hour drive for me, crisscrossing the state. I enjoy visiting cities (and I’ve written about this contrast before) because there is so much to do and see as well as new people to meet. Still, I couldn’t help but notice the sky’s obscured views. That always reminds me to be grateful for wide-open spaces: fresh air and broad views, star-freckled nights and lilac-dripped sunsets.

You’re a lucky person with such views😀

I went to New Mexico many years ago, and got to see the stars appear right on down to the horizon- because the air is so thin at that altitude. THAT was a big mind boggling experience for my youthful self that I will never forget.

That would be fascinating! It’s neat to see how the night sky is both different and similar all around the world.

I love the view of skies too! Especially now we’re in the rainy season and the sky is blue again. I wish we had starry night though. For some reason, I haven’t seen stars in a while

I wonder if it’s too cloudy at night; we’ve had that at times, too, and some haze from Canadian wildfires lately. A brilliant blue sky is always lovely!
