There was an inflatable crocodile
who supported five children for a while
they leaned on his head
and then--oops!-- he was dead
no more inflatable crocodile
I wrote this limerick for this week’s Wea’ve Written Weekly. David provided us a simple prompt this week:
*Write a poem about something that amuses you!*
This poem was inspired by true events while we were at the beach with friends last week. Apparently, there is a weight limit on inflatable crocodiles. I would assume the same is true for real crocodiles, but I don’t intend to test this theory. With a bit of duct tape, Grumpy will live to carry small people around another day.

I remember that Flex Tape product I keep on seeing on TV shopping — that would be of much use to patch up the hole!

Haha! Five too many! I am sure duct tape can fix it. π

HAHAHA! Yeah… five children is DEFINITELY a LOT for one inflatable crocodile! π

We warned the little people of the weight limits but they were relentless π

Hehehe! I remember those days! We had a pool party last Saturday and although there weren’t 5 kids on an inflatable, there was an adult on a kid’s ring. It didn’t pop but instead slowly deflated. The kids then took turns trying to dive in to “rescue” it from the bottom of the pool… I love the limerick!!

Thanks! Haha! I can picture the slowly deflating kid’s ring, and the rescue attempts sound like great fun! So many fun and goofy memories are made in the summer.

Haha that made me laugh pretty hard. Here’s an attempt at a humorous lymmeric from an old carpet cleaning pro:
There once was dog named rain
His full bladder was causing such pain
He went on the rug
But is he a bad pug
For simply creating a pet stain?
Let me know what you think haha
