Restful

Time is never wasted
when passed in tranquil places,
the whisper of grass and,
underfoot, rich sand.
A breeze against our cheeks:
we could stay for weeks,
immovable against life's worries
a force against nature's hurries

I wrote this poem for Wea’ve Written Weekly prompt #123 over at the Skeptic’s Kaddish. This week’s prompt was provided by Sally, who asks us to do the following:

I really enjoy ekphrastic poetry because I tend to use an image or two to get myself started with any poem I write. I also recommend using images or photos to my composition students when we begin their narrative unit (this week!), so I guess it’s something I’m a fan of in many realms of writing. πŸ˜€
