Spring welcomes us home:
a vivid splay of vibrant greens
to warm the eyes
and raise the hearts.
The sliver of river
once spied between
the tangles of bare branches
now blooms and overflows
like so many flowers along its bank.
Sunlight stirs us on,
beyond the hour we once huddled indoors
to bask in orange rays that skitter
across Earth's surface
long into the evening.
We stay awake even under moonbeams,
arms wide and mouths upturned,
embracing each spring day
for one moment more.

The river awakens after a long winter! And all of nature (and the humans too) rejoice in the longer days and warmer light! A beautiful poem!!
